Re: Agbayani slams Espino on Prov’l Capitol

Election season is around the corner and the usual name of the game is (papawayan na bulok). Voters should keep their watchful eyes on candidates who talk dirty about their opponents. Say pilien yo so say candidato ya wala so plano to tan no anto so gawaen to.

I am not a voter in the Philippines and I know nothing about the candidates especially in Pangasinan. However, our yearly visits in the Philippines keep us updated on what is going on around and of course through some relatives, friends’ stories, and the media.

Last July, my daughter toured us in some of the hospitals around Pangasinan where she did her duties. Some were newly built and beautifully renovated. She told me Sayang mama kasi aliwan ontan so situation nen manduduty ak ni.

The hospitals were dilapidated, run-down, no screen, and filthy with roaches and rats roaming around.
I remember my daughter being sick most of the time when she went home from hospital duty and complained about mosquito bites. She told me that some of the hospitals she had been to were unbearable and the patients were kawawa. Most of the time there were no beds available or sometimes patients shared beds and are in the hallways.

There was something that surprised me when she was relating her stories; she praised Governor Espino for helping fix the health issues like the hospitals. She mentioned that she saw the Governor personally visiting the site of the hospitals while they were under construction.

My daughter does not personally know the Governor but coming from a foreign student’s observations and experiences, I say it is believable.
She was impressed by how much the Governor has done to improved the health facilities in Pangasinan during his four years of stay in the office. I guess she’s comparing them from the past to the present.

She left the Philippines after she finished school. She said, that she was grateful that she had those experiences because she learned to appreciate so many things now after what she and her classmates had been through. She said, they were terrible experiences but she survived them.

My hope is that if Governor Espino is re-elected, to continue helping the Pangasinan people and to keep watchful eyes around him especially the trusted ones.
