Re: Espino to pursue case versus San Roque Dam

The damage caused by the release of water from San Roque Dam was the result of negligence by the operators collectively.

But releasing the water was just common sense in order to prevent the deluge in nearby towns and cities.

Knowing a heavy rainfall is approaching, engineers can estimate the volume of water to drop in a specific area in an estimated time or days, by then they would open some of the dam’s gates to prevent it from overflowing.

Hence, the abrupt rise of floodwater is prevented and gives time for the public to go to higher grounds/areas.

If the operators were in the place of those affected, what would they say? For sure, it is the same as what I said.

Furthermore, please construct dikes for the spillways in order to divert the discharges towards the Agno River and not sporadically splashing to nowhere.

People in the past did not have sophisticated technology and education yet, they were able to construct wonderful structures and could predict nature.

What about us today? We even studied in prestigious colleges/universities and yet our brains are not functioning fully. Sad to say that we were all hooked and went by the books. Of course, we are just human and bound to commit mistakes. But, unlocking common sense is the basic foundation of intelligence and fear of God is wisdom.

Mabuhay ang Filipino!
