Happy New Year to all Kabaleyans, especially to Bishop Cruz!
A significant majority of Filipinos are happy and hopeful to welcome the New Year. That’s according to two recent national surveys. The Social Weather Station (SWS) shows that 89 percent of adult Filipinos will face the New Year with hope and optimism. The Pulse Asia “Ulat ng Bayan” survey reports that 86 percent of Filipinos will face the New Year 2010 with hope.
A small minority of Filipinos, however, which include religious leaders, are unhappy and negative in their attitude. One fruit of the Spirit is joy (Galatians 5:22-23). Our joy is not determined by our circumstances, like being poor, but by our spiritual relationship with God.
We are merry on Christmas for we rejoice to remember and celebrate the coming of the Lord in the flesh because of God’s love for us. We are happy to welcome the New Year because of our hope, faith and gratitude to God.
To be merry, happy and joyful, we must remember to practice positive prayer, positive thought, positive talk, and positive action.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4).
