Overseas Pinoys have not abandoned RP

Mr. Robert Indong,
Have you ever been outside the Philippines in a crowded place full of foreigners? Then someone in the crowd approaches you and says, “Pinoy, Pinoy” and you would reply “balut.” Then you both laugh and exchange memories of the motherland. I do not know if that is TGIF but sure is nice to chat with another Filipino.
If you have not experienced it, then you just have to rely on the statistical data of the balikbayan boxes, remittances coming from the US more than the whole world combined and draw inferences that maybe those Fil-Ams really have not abandoned their motherland. Don’t you think Pinoy land may be dying but majority of Fil-Ams would make them die happy?
Hard as it is to talk about death during this happy season but some of mine already went home to wait for their last moments. To be besides Laki, Bae, Nana, and Mama in Pinoy soil.
But then there are some whose selfish expectations were not the same anymore as when they first arrived because of the US laws like divorce. After long court battles they go back to the motherland to be bitter. Now they have the loudest voices of balikbayans abandoning their original goal to help the family in the Philippines.
