Re: Scientist, engineers badly needed in RP

There is no question about the lack of scientists and engineers which became more acute because the majority are leaving the country and do not want to come back. RP can educate and train more as fast as it can, but if there is rarity of job opportunities with decent wages, then they will migrate and will not come back.

Actually RP does not even have programs that will entice the Filipino scientists and engineers abroad to come back. RP is contented with the remittances of OFWs. How can one adequately raise a family without “KURAKOT” with the prevailing salary? As long as the RP is corrupt to the degree it is in, programs to make it more advance and competitive such as educating and training scientists and engineers who will stay in the Philippines will just be an impossible dream.

What caused the mysterious fire that gutted the DOST in Pangasinan? I thought they are scientists and engineers such that they recognize that fire protection system of expensive tools, equipment, and instruments and the office are a must.

My source tells me that to positively hide evidence of overpricing, burn the place.
