Thanks for including our names in your column, Atty. It’s always been a pleasure to be with you. Arline and I had fun with you during the dinner at the restaurant. In fact, the officers and members are looking forward in meeting with you before you leave U.S.
By the way, the name of the organization is FriendsUSA Charitable Foundation, Inc. It’s a 501c3 tax-exempt organization registered with US Department of Justice in the State of California.
The foundation was established only few years ago, but, in our own simple ways, we’ve done a lot of charitable projects locally and abroad.
In addition to our Scholarship Program, we also have Sports & Recreational Program, Adopt-A-Town Program, Seniors Program and Feed- The-Homeless Program.
Just recently, before you arrived from RP, we donated $1,000.00 to ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. exclusively for Typhoon Ondoy victims only. It’s not that much of a donation but it will surely help a lot.
At present, the FriendsUSA Charitable Foundation, Inc. is, in coordination with Mr. & Mrs. Cres Meneses, raising funds for the victims of Typhoon Pepeng in Pangasinan. Hopefully, it will be a successful fund raising campaign.
Lastly, we’re hoping to see you again before you fly back home.
