Garbage Collection Initiative of Sr. Supt. Barba is good but it would be a lot more effective and less expensive if the police and the environmental agencies launch a campaign strictly enforcing the anti-littering/pollution laws and penalize the violators.

The action shown may give the wrong impression to the idiot residents that it is OK to dispose the garbage in the rivers or anywhere because someone will pick it up anyway. Another picture showing a violator caught throwing garbage and penalized should, therefore, accompany the picture shown.

I hope the supt. is not doing it to make some “papogi points” like others we know.
