Re: Re-stating the Forum Policy
Hooray on your continued policy of withholding the names and email addresses of posters. The withholding of these items allows the posters to express their opinions without the fear of retributions from others who may have strong disagreements or nefarious reasons.
Also, when names and email addresses were posted in the Forum, I expressed my opposition with the then policy. I showed how easily it was to find the names, addresses, telephone numbers and even relatives of the posters by simply having the first and last names of the posters. The knowledge of their email address made it easier. With these information I was even able to access what high school that person attended. Although I could easily access information about a poster, I never used this knowledge, unlike one of the frequent posters who believes it is his right to use my last name when replying to me, I respected the posters right to privacy.
I commend the Punch for keeping its user name only policy in the postings.
