Re: FAREWELL TO A HERO

I hope the fallen hero of Tipo-Tipo, 1st Lt Evangelista didn’t die in vain in that gruesome gunbattle against the extremist Abu Sayyaf. This waste of precious lives could have been avoided if AFP strategists used their firepower and equipment properly. Being ill-equipped and running out of bullets, the Abu Sayyaf resort to hit and run tactics.

All the AFP can do is use their advantage with snipers using single shot 50 caliber rifles and shoot their enemies one by one in over a half kilometer distance. Or with their manpower advantage, deny them (Abu Sayyaf and MILF/MNLF
 one and the same being Muslims) their campsites as a haven to recruit, train and operate. Or apply search and destroy operation to erase these ragtag terrorists.

Problem was, Camp Abubakar was captured during the time of Erap but was turned over back to them during the time of Cory. Malaking kabubohan. A colossal failure of common sense allowing another band of marauder to bear arms. This is unconstitutional. We already have the AFP for our national defense.
