The good ole days

Oh what changes we have to deal with. Now we have the ‘Don’t drink and drive’ echoing in Pangasinan. I used to go to our farm from the national highway in Santa Barbara in a car or truck then ride the carabao drawn cart in the muddy or dusty roads.
Oh yeah, those were the times when I bring our farmers loads of drink and let the carabao go. Good times as I dream of the good old days in the dusty roads of Pangasinan. Now jeeps and trike buzz by with abandon as the roads got cemented although so narrow and we wonder if they are drunk or just need driver ed.
Progress sometimes are not in synch with the people’s upliftment as the motor got introduced and driver ed got left behind. We sure need a program to curb our newfound desire to drive all the way to the farm and drink our full for the holidays.
