The changing of the guard in the provincial police force with the induction Supt. Percival Barba, is faster than you can pass thru a turnstile.
It’s magic!
Isagani Nerez was booted out not even finishing his term of endearment to Espin-off. Nerez’s has outlived his practical worth of applicability.
The gotcha . . .
This Percival Barba, is more than meets the eye in his relation to Espin-off. He had worked with him before . . . shining his shoes . . . doing his laundry . . . running errands.
Espin-off’s ubiquitous man-Friday.
What else’s new? Nothing – as far as serving the Pangasinense in his politicized police duties . . . Barba . . . will be a flotsam in an ocean of corruption and deceit.
The connotation . . .
Percival Barba would be a defeatist in his performance. His hands are tied before he starts. He can shout all his might to high heavens, but nothing will come out of it. A disaster!
If history could be revisited remember Percival of Malaya? It was a defeat from the assumption of strength.
