After the mediocre PINOY O-LAME-PICS team came limping home Malacañang immediately started the blame game.
The Pontius Pilate touch . . .
The debacle at Beijing made Arroyo scampering like a rat she is washing her hands off the defeat. The non-production of medals she proudly touted with millions of prize money who gets the gold made her feel not accountable, but the athletes to blame.
The finger pointing . . .
The fiasco rests with the athletes – according to Arroyo – of poor preparation and limited training. With no resources and an unwilling athletic establishment to start training at an early age, it’s a ripened ground of inadequacy which for all intents and purposes Arroyo knew what they up against.
The calculated risk . . .
The PINOY team was thrown at the wolves not to compete, but as sacrificial lambs to show face amongst the delegations marching under the glaring lights of the Chinese.
They trained just 6 months prior to the games which allowed no competition, however, they were sent to the grinder for athletic embellishments while
Arroyo dined in the Great Hall with heads of state. What a nerve!
Why not . . .
It’s all over until London next time around. But, another competition is in the offing. Arroyo . . . the ultimate PINAY . . . should participate in this exclusive Olympics among the Third World underperforming countries . . . for the most corrupt country of them all.
With the training and competence in the management in debasement, this could be the gold medal Arroyo wanted to hang in her neck.
