GMA’s new ‘OFWs’

Outdocumented Filipino Workers . . . OFW’s . . . are due for a rude awakening.
The tolerance of countries where these “Pinoys” are working illegally has reached its limits.
Countries of the European Union (EU), Malaysia and South Korea declared war on these paperless “Pinoys” to deport them by the thousands to get rid of them, a tremendous economic burden of these countries concerned.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Esteban “The Rabbit” Conejos underscored their plight when he acquiesced every country swarmed by these pests have the right to deport them, which irked Arroyo, but helpless to protect their rotten skins.
It’s mind-boggling how these people got into these countries in the first place. How the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) processed them is now in question, and employers who provided work without a contract passed thru the rigid screening of immigration. Greased palms?
South Korea alone has more than 30,000 Pinoys unregistered out of 653,000 legally accepted to work. President Lee Myung-Bak gives marching orders rounding them like chickens and tosses them in Arroyo’s lap.
Europe has 100,000 undocumented workers scrambling to hide from the authorities and it is shocking, that you can find Pinoys in Rome selling native delicacies in suitcases, and flee like rats from the police in a moments notice.
And in Malaysia, there are 500,000 Pinoy illegals out of 1.3 million undocumented workers in that country. Malaysia set up a People Volunteer Corps (a modern version of the Gestapo) to go after these undesirables. Cattle cars are lined up to accommodate such cargo.
The Arroyo government was caught off guard with no plans to bring them back. It’s so pitiful, Arroyo, after milking them this long showed her incompetence in foreign affairs.
Maybe, Arroyo will let these Pinoys traverse the Strait of Malacca.
Either you swim or sink, fellas!
