Since when did the famous supposition of the great French philosopher and mathematician, René Descartes, “I think therefore I am” had been turned upside down and adulterated in one’s desire to look good.
Such famous lines are better off if they are left alone. Because to change the structure of the composition, is not innovative but plagiaristic.
Case in point: John F. Kennedy’s, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”.
The great American jurist Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. said, “ It is now the moment when by common consent we pause to become conscious of our natural life and to rejoice in it, to recall what our country has done for each of us, and to ask what we can do for our country in return”.
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. – – – – – March 8, 1841 – March 6, 1935
“You are what you think” is a supposition – the antecedent clause for a conditional statement.
You are – WRONG – what you think – RIGHT, Mr. Oriel.
