Fight between the good and the evil

Somebody asked in the forum, “Masama bang ang mga Pilipino sa buong mundo ay sumisigaw?” Sa aking palagay ay depende kung ano ang kanilang isinisigaw. There are some people who seem to enjoy shouting to the world the survey that says, “The Philippines has been branded as the number 2 most corrupt nation in the world and number 1 most corrupt country in Southeast Asia.”
Because of this survey, some folks immediately assumed that majority of Filipinos are corrupt and only few are patriotic. This insinuation will definitely bring ill-will to the Filipino people. In the same manner, it will surely bring you hard feelings if some people will assume that you are a thief mainly because you live in the Island of the Thieves, di ba?
Then he asked, “Are the OFW’s wrong in denouncing the massive graft and corruption in their beloved Philippines? Again, it all depends on how they are denouncing graft and corruption.
I think it is wrong, if their way of denouncing graft and corruption is by shouting the critically destructive survey and then immediately assumed that majority of Filipinos are corrupt and only few are patriotic. In the process, marami silang nasasagasaang mga walang kamalay malay at inosenteng mga Filipinos, di ba?
He also asked, “Are they corrupting the minds of other Filipino people in doing so?” I do not know about all of them but I believe some do by name-calling, making malicious allegations and fretting about the Filipino people in general mainly because of few evil men in our community who are extremely corrupt and at the same time are corrupting other Filipinos with the help of supporters, friends and relatives of the demons. They are definitely causing corrosion in our society like an acid fretting at the strongest metal.
To the query asked by the same poster, “Will meekness as suggested by some posters solve the problems plaguing the country?”, it is very unfortunate that my response to his query was taken as another religious innuendo instead of perceiving it as a way of life and the relationship of Christians to the Lord our God. It confirms further the fact that the word meek has been misunderstood always by many.
Another Punch blogger asked if the people he mentioned were the meek types or did they fret. How will I know what to tell him? For one thing, I do not know who his benchmark is or point of reference as far as meekness is concerned, di ba?
Besides, I don’t need to answer all their questions. I am also interested to listen what they and the others have to say. For me the best benchmark or point of reference are the two of the greatest characters in the Bible who are meek, Moses and our beloved Jesus Christ.
We must bear in mind that they also get mad and resist the errors of others. Using Moses and Jesus Christ as a point of reference, why not tell us now if Gandhi, Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora or any other people you know were the meek types or did they fret?
It will be very unfortunate if some individuals may understand intricate things like quality control and other complicated and sophisticated scientific and technical information but are in the dark about spiritual matters and things with eternal value.
Like I said in my previous post, “As always since the time of Adam and Eve, it is all about the fight between the good and the evil. I have high hopes that because of the overall goodness in people’s hearts, the greater good will ultimately prevail over evil.” Godspeed to all.
