Let him clear his name

I think it’s time to go rest and enjoy the remaining years of his life. The beloved son of Pangasinan, Spkr Jose De Venecia should rest from a hurried but controversial life of a politician.
He said that he’s going to join the opposition. Fine, if that’s the path to recovery: reform the gov’t for clean, transparent and responsible governance.
It may not be easy. He was a protégée of Marcos and to the victors belonged the spoils. During that time, he obtained an unsecured loan from the World Bank guaranteed by the Marcos regime. For reasons unknown, he stopped paying for the annuity of this loan ($168 million). Who’s footing the bill? The taxpayers. An ordinary citizen can’t do that.
Our friend, the late Ermin Garcia, Sr, the epitome for honesty and fairness will not rest in peace with this annoying pain. Spkr De Venecia should clear his name, move this nation forward and not derail the momentum.
