Advertise, don’t travel

Your current SP article Bangus Fest to go regional mentioned the city mayor of Dagupan …”Fernandez is set to leave for the United States soon on an official mission to invite overseas Dagupeños as balikbayans will also be among the major target visitors.”
His trip to the US means well for the city economy however, he could save taxpayers money by just fielding ads and other promos at the various Philippine consulates in Mainland Asia, Europe, and the US touting upcoming events for the year in his city.
Another way of advertising the city is thru tour guides and agencies worldwide. Savvy travelers from all walks of life looking for new adventures browse thru handouts and magazines in the Travel Offices.
It is only a suspicion that he may want to breathe cleaner and fresher air and ditto with water.
Also in your current SP article Bangus Fest to go regional well, Dagupan should add “Oyster and Shrimp Boil Fest” in their yearly event.
The city should not underestimate the power of oyster and shrimp farmers they bring to the local economy. We in the US are always clamoring for other fresh morsels other than bangus.
