Choosing between jail and coffin

Edwin,
Washington D.C. is a wonderful place just like Metro Manila or Pangasinan but in some areas you needed protection.
We were in Walter Reed Army Medical Center when I was telling the story to the one treating me of how I was just challenged to get out of the car in front of a MacDonald’s, a block from the Center by a group of young men because I did not turn my car fast enough for them. I was surprised when the staff showed me his illegal gun (guns are illegal in DC) and he said “I rather go to jail alive than be carried in a coffin.” What a place and situation to be in.
The gun ban is feasible if people feel safe that they don’t have to choose between jail and coffin.
