A ferry service between Pangasinan and the Ilocos region is a giant step forward in the right direction. What a fantastic idea to put on the table by all city mayors involved and propitious future for all citizens of the country. This pitch will connect business to economic development resources that can give the Upper Hand in the Middle and Northern Luzon.
We also hope the technical working group that was put together will also take account in their study the following for outside investors: business tax structure, as well as various corporate incentives and tax credits, business real estate and the availability of quality land and buildings, and commitment to a well-educated and trained workforce.
These are just a few beginning points that could be explored but mainly the assemblage should focus on the reality of the start-up of this tremendous window of opportunity to a 21st economy.
A side note for the technical working group… please get in touch with the state government of Hawaii with regard to environmental hurdles the Super Ferry went through and learn from it.
The impact of this project it will have on the fragile coastal environment is still unknown. Do not make assumptions kabaleyans and good luck to the endeavor.
