Arroyo did the right this time around. I will have to agree – pardoning Estrada – is not for political expediency, but a necessity to heal the wounds of the country, although, almost all Filipinos have a hard time to swallow.

Bury the hatchet, guys, and move on. Estrada was convicted. The Philippines can show to the world, that contrary to popular belief, the justice system still exists.

But, we should not forget as crooked as Estrada is, he has the balls to face his accusers. Unlike Marcos who took flight in the middle of the night to escape the wrath of the Filipinos. Estrada could face himself in the mirror, he’s not a coward.

And those doubting Thomases, who conceived it bad, that pardoning Estrada started a precedent like releasing the rest of the felons in prison for equity. It’s wishful thinking. Arroyo, I believe, in her right mind, will never do that. They are so different from Estrada. He was a president!
