Ladies and Gents, this might be one of the signs why Pinoy youths past and present are not reaching their potentials to become innovator and contributor in the lives of people.
As you have read in this forum an idea was raised by the city engineers to raise the street level in order to solve the flooding problem in Dagupan and was described as “Most bizarre engineering analysis and planning of the century“.
Big dreamers with bizarre or out of the ordinary ideas should be entertained and explore the possibilities for practical uses. Heaven only knows what kind of reactions a young brash engineer would get if he suggests even in jest to reverse the flow of the Pantal River for what ever his reason. I could hear laughs in the peanut gallery.

Three American icons Thomas Edison, (home schooled) Inventor, William Lear, (8th grade), founded and built Lear jets, and Howard Hughes, (freshman college dropout), billionaire, founder of Hughes Aircrafts are all self taught engineers and dreamers at early ages had the support of their families and peers and went on to make an impact on the lives of many people around the world. Despite their successes although at times eccentric were humble and altruistic and let their life accomplishments speak for themselves.
A piece of friendly advise to my kabaleyan parents: Encourage and nurture your offspring to go on an adventure and be curious, discover, and learn new things in interesting places that will broaden their horizon while others who prefer to stay home can rock away in their chairs till they are laid to rest.
