Let’s go for Bong Go!

By Gonzalo Duque

THERE’S a side of President Digong that political analysts consider “genius.”

It’s his uncanny talent in winning public approval.

You all saw it in the last elections! Arawi ran amin, anto? Mar Roxas, Grace Poe, Jojo Binay are well known and regular names in the national scene! Digong is nowhere there except in Davao, where he is a “demigod” sort of, Davao being just a province. Ha??? Naging congressman? Ok, but he did not make waves!

So there!

How did he do it, fellas?

We told you… Digong makes brilliant decisions. And he is able to project an honest persona. in terms of winning the masa, it is now clear, one for the books, Digong is an idol. He was able to identify himself with the millions of Filipinos who are struggling out of poverty. No politician of note has that kind of charisma, not even the late Fernando Poe Jr. or Erap can match it.

That is the reason we call him, Genius Digong, political genius, we mean. He fights the Pope… he gets praises instead of rebuke! He shoots down women, he is still held in high esteem. Why, oh, why? Ok, palaisipan!

It will take a century probably to remove that populist image. Ag natalo ed eleksyon itan!

Look at his daughter, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio! She is the next Digong. People simply love her. That’s why a-nerbiyos si Speaker Alvarez nang nagbanggaan ang kanilang landas! Whoever said Sara Duterte will be the next president could be right.

She is doing the “right” things. We put quotes on “right” because it’s difficult to be accurate on that regard, right?

So, you see, even in this episode of our history, more than one year na si Pangulo sa pwesto, wala pang weakening ang kanyang kagat sa tao. They still love him.

Umuugong ang grapevine on the news that Presidential Assistant Bong Go is being groomed to run for the senate.

Who is grooming him? Kadami, and this includes the President himself. Kung ganyan ang istorya, mga abay, who will have the gall to stand on the way?

This Bong Go-for-senator news should be a welcome development. The entry of this Bong Go news is Duterte vintage. Hindi inaasahan. Element of surprise. Dyan matinik si President Genius, kwan yo pa?

The Philippine political complexion is changing. The quiet, loyal, unassuming Christopher Laurence Go, a La Salle graduate on management, is being thrust into the political firmament. A faithful man of Duterte, self-effacing, always in a supporting role, hindi nagnanakaw ng eksena ng kanyang bossing, a workhorse, and  sharp in decision-making, yan si Bong Go.

Digong is effectively changing the character of Philippine politics.

Those credentials fit next Senator Bong Go to a T.

Pustahan tayo, magta-top sa senado yan. Wanna bet?

Dinig ko Usec Tim Orbos got a very warm reception sa mga Rotarians (10 clubs in all) last Tuesday.

Fred Caguiao of RC Downtown Dagupan was program emcee.

Congrats, Tim…. In the open forum, he was asked if he would continue what older brother Oscar began. Everybody was asking saan ba patungo yong inumpisahan ni Oca? Sabi ng isang Rotarian “hindi ba president?” Tim Orbos said “hindi po, we are not thinking of politics, just make our infra the best in the world!”

Ayos!
