The Grand Torino story

THERE is no doubt that President Digong is fast becoming a real and authentic leader of Filipinos.

Even in a worldwide perspective, that is.

Kayo ha, you thought, he was going to be a probinsyano president. Probinsyiano nga, but with a difference!

At the Laos ASEAN summit of world leaders, the President captured the attention, respect and admiration of everyone, including, don’t look now, President Obama who got his comeuppance when he tried to interfere with the way he is running the Philippine government.

But things got well along the way, and now President Obama learned his lessons in dealing with a probinsyiano president.

Tama si Digong. He is not beholden to anyone, but to the Filipino people because, as he said, we are a sovereign nation.

As one observer said, he is all substance and action. Di ba ok yan, mga abay?

Did you know that no less than the Queen of England was impressed by him and that she invited him to come to England?

Know why Digong has acquired an authoritative mark? Because he is unafraid in fighting drugs. It’s a feared, untouchable subject. But no dice to Digong. He would tread where angels fear to tread. Yan ang leader, mga pare ko.

Know why he is loved and he has no fear? Because lives are lost in illegal

drugs. Ipupusta niya ang buhay niya dyan.

What he is doing is to fill up what the past administrations have not done.

Fact is the VACC is suing Mayor Bistek Bautista for allowing Quezon City to become the Number 1 drug haven in the country. Even his councilor brother Hero has been apprehended on drug charges.

Seen that movie the Grand Torino? It stars Clint Eastwood.

The story goes that the vida has a Korean kid close friend. The kid was often bullied by gangsters.

The twist in the story shows Clint fought the gangsters. He was beaten up and died in the hospital.

But justice was served when all the gangsters were lumped in jail and his Torino car was finally given to the Korean kid.

It works like a Leo Tolstoi story God sees the Truth but Waits.

Some times, it takes time for God to show his love and grace. But without fail, he delivers.

It’s our sacred view that Digong has a similar story.

It won’t be long when sa dami-daming nagawa niya para sa bansa at bayan, our president may leave the scene sooner or later… as a hero, but meeting all his goals for the Filipino people.

      Let’s cross our fingers.
