Bato for president gains support

OUR beloved province is in the limelight!

But for the wrong reason!

For a while, we were at a loss if we should write this column.

You know the reason why.

We are still shocked by the news headlines in Manila.

As you all know, we are the chair of the Pangasinan Historical and Cultural Commission.

We need not elaborate.

There are times silence speaks volumes.

Now is such a time.

We can only hope Cong. Spines, the Baraan brothers, Toti and Raffy, and Raul Sison would be able to acquit themselves at the bar of justice.

Good luck and prayers.

By the way, the President must be sad about it. Spines is his friend. Magkasama sila sa Congress noon.

During the campaign, Digong visited Spines twice. May pinagsamahan.

Six days before the elections Spines pledged his support to Digong.

Many called our attention to San Beda as the school to beat.

Why you ask.

Kasi ang nagbabatuhan ay mga fellow Bedans, President Digong and Senastor De Lima.

Are lions destined to eat each other? Ha ha.

The times are getting dark and dim, let’s laugh a bit.

Did you notice more and more people are jumping into the Duterte bandwagon? They include Bishop Oscar Cruz, Cardinal Rosales, Rigoberto Tiglao, Homobono Adaza, and many more.

What does this mean? It only points to the President’s ballooning credibility.

Digong has the qualities of a great leader, a hero.  Hindi magtatagal, we believe, he will be catapulted to the circle of Rizal and Bonifacio who will be written about as the savior of a country from criminality and poverty.

Many agreed that Director Ronaldo Dela Rosa has the grit, the determination and tough persona that can match that of President Digong.

After Digong, no one can carry on the stony (mala-bato) resolve of President Duterte than General Bato! Pam-Presidente, di ba?

Of our present crop of leaders, may maikukumpara ba sa kanya? Yong may angking tapang, tiyaga, sipag, commitment at talino, at utter resolve for public service.

That’s super!

I overheard that Mayor Belen Fernandez captured the affection and support of the media who attended the President Hotel Breakfast Club forum last Thursday.

She impressed them with her mastery of details.

She was with Maj. Ferdinand Lopez, chief inspector of Dagupan City Police, who represented Col. Neil Miro, the chief.

It was learned that more than 25 drug personalities, mostly pushers, have been slain by the local police in line with President Duterte’s – and Mayor Belen’s – drug drive.  Before Digong’s presidency, Mayor Belen had neutralized around 600 pushers and users.

Congrats!
