WEEKS before the filing of the COC’s, we were talking about a united administration-opposition ticket in Dagupan City led by Mayor Belen Fernandez and Vice Mayor Brian Lim.

It turned out, it was not to be.

Nag-file si mayora with Councilor Alfie Fernandez as her running mate.

That’s ok. Destiny e. We smell victory for the duo, but there are a few requirements. Read on.

There’s going to be a fight in Bangus City. Our cumadre Celia Lim, wife of former Mayor Benjie Lim, filed her CoC for mayor. And son Brian also filed as a vice mayor re-electionist.

Me-medyo may kainitan ang labanan sa bise.

But in the mayoral confrontation, it’s obvious, lamang si mayora. Her super performance, that’s even acknowledged worldwide, speaks for itself. Challenger Celia will have to square off with herself if she intends to win or just play a role for beloved son Brian.

Alfie’s winning proposition, on the other hand, will depend on how he will handle himself, and there are obvious factors going for him such as Mayor Belen’s single-minded commitment for their tandem’s victory.

In short, we would advise the LP Dagupan team to follow the attitude of former Mayor Al’s statesman-like stance.

This B and A team should have a good team work. Ag kayo mangogoyoran, o manggogonotan.

Destructive itan mga agagui.

As to Brian, who just made headline news in the recent national Jaycees confab in the city, he has to face up to the fact that organization, logistics and performance will play a major part in winning or losing in the polls. His being a Philippine Jaycees national leader, like his father, knows what it takes to lead and win.

Good luck to all of you.

Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo scores!

The Supreme Court last Tuesday stopped the Sandiganbayan from conducting hearings on the plunder cases against our kabayan PGMA, and many believe, the United Nations humanitarian fights recommendation was a big influence here.

Our naughty mind says some justices of the Sandiganbayan are behaving according to the baton in the Palasyo, with covetous eyes on the Supreme Court

In spite of that, certain justice have inhibited themselves in order not to commit further injustice on PGMA, na masyado nang kawawa.

This we want to remind them – beware of the judgment of history and God. Walang patawad ang hustisiya sa mga makasalanan.

Water, water, water, everywhere!

That’s right at the height of Typhoon Lando.

At the Water District board meeting last week, it was agreed upon that a summit be held sometime in December to thresh out consumer and stakeholder problems.

Certain problems surfaced during the disaster week. We realized we had to deal with them seriously.

The proposed summit will have Robert Matias as chair, with manager Adel Valle, as co-chair, with division heads to be tapped to prepare specific topics.

What about our favorite candidate for president, Mayor Rody Duterte? Has he chickened out? … thrown in the towel?

We have said time and again, hindi magba-back out yan.

Imagine, with him out, parang walang eleksyon. Walang excitement! Miriam Santiago will give the excitement? Papaano yong clamor for her to submit her medical clearance. Hindi pwedeng basta-basta yan! Serioso ang presidency. She has to comply or else, she bungles the whole thing. You see, when you aspire for president, you have to stake your all for the love of country.

Short of that, you can’t be entrusted to lead.
