Duterte-Marcos tandem is ideal

THE Philippine Star in three successive issues carried a Bongbong Marcos- Rodrigo Duterte news article.

We hear that the tandem is catching fire in the Visayas and Mindanao and many parts of Luzon. This is a good development to neutralize the dominance of a Jojo Binay, Grace Poe and Mar Roxas presidential “bal-balita.”

Gawa gawa lang naman yan ng Manila media e.

Allow us though to propose instead a Duterte-Marcos tandem. Here are our reasons:

Mayor Duterte who is now 70, has the experience, brilliant record in executive governance and a very good platform of government that will restore normalcy and prosperity in the country.

He represents the country’s Number one problem area, Mindanao, while Bongbong represents Luzon. They make an ideal North-South combination.

Since word got around that Duterte is eyeing or being eyed for the Philippine presidency, his ratings has zoomed skyward.

The reason is Duterte has a track of a dramatically solving criminality in Davao, the largest city in the world in land area. Let’s not forget that Davao used to be a killing fields a few years back, and it took Duterte, a former congressman, prosecutor and lawyer, to stop the pervasiveness of crime in that place.

Today, no one can deny — because of Duterte’s leadership—that Davao has become the 4th most peaceful city in the whole world.

On the other hand, Bongbong Marcos, a former congressman and governor of Ilocos Norte up north was able to transform that province into a self-reliant province.

Ha?? Marcos atrocities? Wait, there’s a book by our friend, Erick San Juan who has documented that the late strongman was the wealthiest man in the whole Asia!

No, not because of graft and corruption, but sheer brilliancy. He got the gold of General Yamashita who brought to our shores billions worth of gold in the 40’s.

Yamashita because of his atrocities was hanged in 1945.

In case you don’t know yet, Yamashita and his generals in the Japanese Imperial army operated in Singapore, Malaysia and in the Philippines before and during World War II. It was that point in world history that Japan was known as the No. 1 world power on the same footing with Germany.

There was then a plan to make the Philippines a part of Japan so much so that all the gold and treasures that Japanese looted worldwide were brought to the Philippines.

With the outbreak of the 2nd World War the Japanese who camped here did not know what to do with their vast wealth including gold to the tune of billions of dollars. In their haste to hide their loot dug holes left and right all over the archipelago to hide the treasures.

This could be the reason why up to this time excavations are still going on to find the Yamashita- Marcos gold. But why the name of Marcos still there? Because it was he who allegedly found it.

Back to politics.

The no. 1 province in the north in terms of a cheap electrical power due to the installations of 100 windmills is Ilocos Norte, thanks to Bongbong. We hope the other provinces will follow its example.

That’s a good combination, di ba?

As to the vaunted highest rating presidential wannabe in Sen. Grace Poe, we think that in just a matter of days, cases of her residency will be filed by the camps of Vice President Jojo Binay and Sec. Mar Roxas.

Yan an malaking problema. There’s no doubt that Grace Poe is a very competent senator and she has shown it in the handling of Mamasapano hearing in the senate.

But the residency problem will stand in the way. And by the way, how can she deny that her husband and children are all Americans.

Tignan niyo? So the cat is out of the bag!

No, we are not against Grace, saludo tayop diyan. Her popularity is so immense, utang nya yan kay FPJ!

But she lacks the experience in the art of dirty, intriguing politics. Paiikutin lang sya, you know naman how things are in our system!

This country needs not only a competent and ideal leader, but one who is experienced, brilliant and able to confront the top issues of the presidency.

As Machiavelli, the legend of political power has said, “let the lion and the fox eat each other, while the wolf is just waiting to devour them.”

*          *          *          *

In Pangasinan, the gubernatorial fight between former congressman Mark Cojuangco and incumbent board member Pogi Espino thru proxy, Guv’nor Spines is reaching scandalous levels as shown by broadcast backers of both who are seemingly cutting each others’ throats.

Parang wala nang humpay ang intrigahan at atakihan at nawawala na tuloy ang tunay na issue, nagigin personalan na.

We wish to remind our fellow media practitioners that the issue is governance, how to put our province into a high gear of progress and development, not a nasty exchange of barking and washing dirty linen in public.

So let’s stop this business of barking na parang mga asong ulol!

Aw-aw!
