Thank you, Rep. Gina and Mayor Belen!

THE Duque family will forever be grateful to Congresswoman Gina de Venecia and Mayor Belen Fernandez for the upgrading and renovation of the Sec. Francisco Q. Duque Road—formerly Amado Street—in Barangay Tapuac—in Dagupan City.

If you go there today, you’ll feel refreshed by the new look of the road, thanks to the many hands who collaborated for the completion of the road project, in line with the city’s infra modernization.

It was quite an experience to huddle with the gorgeous Congresswoman Gina and the ever smiling and dynamic Mayor Belen when they graced the LNU crowd on Sept. 24 to celebrate Papang’s birthday anniversary.

Because of Gina and Belen—the once decrepit road—Sec. Francisco Q. Duque Road—it was a portrait of neglect—has been modernized and looking spic’n span. Salamat din kay former Barangay Jake Reyes and former Councilor Pacoy Torio, sponsor of the SB renaming Amado St., to Sec. Francisco Duque Road. This was undertaken during the term of Mayor Alipio Fernandez, Jr.

We remember Papang made several follow-ups for the widening of the road, convincing lot owners to donate precious sections of their properties for the project.

As everyone could see now, nag-iba na ang lugar. Lots of economic activity.

It was Mayor Manaois who had it asphalted—and later in the 90’s when it was devastated by the earthquake, a lot of government and civic leaders joined hands to rehabilitate it. It was then that Speaker Joe de Venecia and older brod Dr. Ado Duque, joined hands to put it back to normal.

After a while, a lot of force majeure–floods especially—brought harm and damage to the area.

Thanks to the local leadership and the DPWH which undertook the raising of the road by 6 inches to fight off flooding.

And here came Mayor Belen who had the road raised by 8 inches, which as everyone could see, is about completed.

In due time, that part of Dagupan will showcase a much improved infrastructure project.

Salamat, salamat, salamat, Mam Gina and Belen.

We’re seeing the reality of what the two leaders—Rep. Gina and Mayor Belen—has promised to the Tapuac folk.

Nakikita na ng marami how the whole place has metamorphosed!

For LNU’s part, we wish to report some modest feats, in step with the city’s modernization efforts.

As you all know, we want LNU to be competitive to world standards.

We now have a new dental infirmary and a state-of-the art dental care hereabouts.

We also have a new dental simulator room for restorative dentistry.

We are humbled to report, too, about our new pharmacy laboratory, a new renovated swimming pool complete with bathroom for ladies, children and locker rooms.

Suffice it to say that our walk ways have been raised and beautified.

Next month, LNU will have a new 24 meter frontage, a new coffee shop at Le Duc Hotel.

All these because LNU won’t settle for less in providing its faculty and students A-1 facilities.

It makes us feel good that our students would come to us to enthusiastically report about their feelings.

All this is being translated to increase in enrolment. Salamat po ng marami sa inyo.

NOTES: Did you know that most presidents of the province’s dental association came for LNU? Isn’t this proof of excellence in our method of teaching?

Pardon us for this “good morning myself” report—it’s just our simple way of greetings our dearest hero of our life, our late father, Dr. Francisco Q. Duque Jr.
