NPC is intact

STAYING put with the NPC.

That’s the clear situation and reality obtaining sa Nationalist People’s Coalition party in spite of mga naglalabasang intriga na may mga mag re-resign na mga bokal effective June 1.

Sobrang excited yata sila that they even preempted it with an announcement sa media without realizing maski yong ipinagmamalaki nilang siyam silang mag re-resign ay hindi naman nag prosper even after a week had passed. The five board members who signed ay hindi pa nadagdagan at malamang hindi na madadagdagan. Truth is, the remaining four refused to talk about their reported resignation.

Less talk, less mistake. No talk, no mistake. They are being careful baka madamay sila sa mga magsusulputang word war at matamaan sila sa crossfire.

Walang pilitan. The five BMs made their decision to resign, so be it. The rest of their colleagues respect that. So the decision of the 4 not to resign should also be respected. Walang samaan ng loob.

So it’s not true that Gov. Espino’s allies are dumping the NPC. Baka isipin ng iba parang sandamakmak ang involved sa reported resignation na yan, not true yan. Maliwanag ito sa usapan namin ni Governor. Deretsahan ko ngang tinanong si Gov if he knew or if he had anything to do with the move of the 5 BMS since they are all close to him. Ang sagot niya: Wala. Anggapo. Awan. Nothing. Nada!

In fact, he refuses to talk about politics now. Work, work, work muna ang kanyang mantra. He reiterated it when he delivered his State of the Province Address. He does not want to spoil the gains of his administration and the momentum he has created especially that he is now in his last term. Mas dapat na ibuhos niya daw ang kanyang effort sa pag implement pa ng mga magagandang plano for Pangasinan in his remaining term.

As I wrote this column (afternoon of May 21), I got this text galing sa Kapitolyo which I want to share with you: ‘Our office has been receiving inquiries and text messages asking if former Congressman Mark Cojuangco has convinced BM Pogi Espino to be his running-mate as vice governor in the next elections. Answer: NOT TRUE. It is the desire of Governor Espino not to talk or indulge in politics at this time saying “let us focus on uninterrupted work and public service as election is still far away. Please be guided. Thank you.”

I firmly believe the resignation from the NPC of the five honorable board members will not prosper. I see no valid reason why others should leave the NPC. Let us not be emotional.

It could also be vice versa. In short, very unstable pa ang political weather ngayon.

Ang paniniwala ko ay walang aalis, they are not dumping the NPC. It’d be a political suicide if they do that this early. Pwera lamang siguro if some of them have hidden, selfish motives. Mahirap yan because their unsuspecting followers will suffer only because they were carried away by their emotions.

Kaya for me, the best thing for them do is to stop talking about resignation. It’s still two years more before the 2016 election. They should serve their constituents instead of wasting their time with political intrigues.  Remember that the NPC showed how it deeply cared for them during elections, especially the last one.  Naging pride ng Pangasinan na almost all elected mayors, vice mayors, councilors, board members, congressmen, pati ang governor and vice governor belong to NPC.

Pangasinan remains an NPC country. Yan dapat ang isaksak nila sa utak, isipan at puso nila. Ang hirap maging political prostitutes, yung palipat-lipat at papalit-palit ng kasama at sinasamahan. Kaya they should be very careful.
