Creative hide-and-seek

WHILE the police officers are aggressively hunting down the illegal drug dealers, mas nagiging creative pa ang mga damuhong criminal in selling droga!

Approximately 75 grams of shabu were confiscated during the operation headed by Dagupan City police chief, Supt. Christopher Abrahano.

She is not only wise, but creative! Who will think that those like candies are shabu?

Personally speaking, when criminals feel that they are in danger, they will find ways  how to continue their illegal activities but away from the prying eyes of the law enforcers. That’s what they thought! But in their case, sa kulungan ang tuloy.

They are happiest whenever they think they got one over the law enforcers!

But I am sure, whatever tactics or gimmicks they have, wherever they hide, they will be snared by the long arms of the law sooner or later! Sigurado yan!

Medyo tense ang situation sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Pangasinan during their session last Monday maybe because of two important issues.

First is the adoption of a resolution expressing the sentiment of Pangasinense against a TV program that aired about the mysterious illness spreading in the province.  Although nag-apologize ang TV program, hiningi ng provincial board na dapat tumulong ang ABS-CBN in restoring the good image ng lalawigan na sinira ng kanilang maling pagbabalita. Dapat lang naman! Exactly as I had written in my last column!

Now we know, hindi lahat ng big network know their big responsibility to their viewers and listeners!

See how irresponsible journalism affects people? I am hopeful that the soonest time, mabawi ng lalawigan ang mga tinatawag na lost opportunities lalo na ng ating turismo dahil sa maling news report.

The second hot issue that was discussed ay ang pamumutol ng punong-kahoy ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa tabi ng kalsada mula Rosales hanggang Sison.

Explanation and arguments from officials of DPWH and DENR, as well as environmentalists against tree-cutting, and former Cong. Mark Cojuangco who accepted the responsibility of the tree-cutting were aired.

But still, we must also try to look and study the benefits of widened roads for the continued progress of the province.

Things like these should be carefully studied. Magtulungan tayo.
