Fearless forecast: JDV vs Spines in 2016 4th D congressional race

HAPPY New Year to all!
I greet you with much hope, but sa totoo lang tayo po’y medyo ninenerbyos nang kaunti.
We have been meeting a lot of soothsayers who give us a gloomy picture of the future.
And that Indian prophet who, 6 months ago, predicted a dreaded skin disease that would hit Pangasinan is frightening.
Let’s pray na lang that our country be spared.
The Yolanda experience up to now gives us nightmares.
We urge the government to come up with a disaster preparedness system like what they have in the US, Cuba and other countries. They instantaneously rise again when they get hit by calamities.
So help us God.

Something funny is happening in our backyard.
You see, some not-so-nice guys were trying very hard to feast on precious radio time to drive a wedge between our cumpadre, long time political ally, confidant and bosom friend, Dangerous Drugs Board chairman Bebot Villar and yours truly.
Their agenda is not clear, except to make us quarrel and fight. Don’t be surprised that we have people like that (mapanira) in our midst.
Some call them “intriguers,” or mudslingers, or some word to that effect.
They are making a mountain out of a molehill. And what’s this molehill?
That we, Bebot and us, are positioned diametrically opposed on the question of whether Guv’nor Spines is really running for congressman in JdV’s 4th district.
Bebot daw believes that Spines will really run against Joe or Gina.
Tayo naman daw ay kumokontra sa opinion na yan.
Ano ba yan?
Ok, please don’t laugh. Because tayo rin ay natatawa kasi hindi naman malaking isyu yan, di ba? But some people are making a big mountain of it. They are fanning the fire. Nagalit daw si Bebot.
That’s why we are here to tell Bebot that this columnist ay di kontra sa sinabi o sinulat niya na kesyo sinabi raw niya na lalaban si Spines kay JdV, at sinabi ko naman daw na hindi lalaban si Spines against Joe.
Agaymet la ya, mga igan?
Truth to tell, we were completely unaware that Bebot and us were on opposite side of the fence re Spines’ running against JdV. What’s funny is wala namang pakialam ang mga pakialamero kung ano ang opinion ng bawat isa sa atin.
In fairness, hindi natin nabasa yong kolum ni Bebot na nagsasabing magkakatunggali sina Spines at JdV in 2016. Sana, sana.
It’s been a long time that we have not witnessed a heavy weight fight in Pangasinan. Sana ito na.
Ang problema, when we chanced upon Spines at the unveiling of the Aguinaldo monument in Bayambang, we asked him. And he told us straight, “no, pare, why should I?”
We wrote a one-line item in our column that week. Yon pala the previous week, Bebot wrote in his column that the congressional scenario in the 4th district would pit Spines and JdV.
It just happened that we were not able to read Deretsahan that particular week. So whatever these local muckrakers are doing to make it appear that we were refuting Bebot was off the mark.
Because so totoo lang, we want them to fight. Kasama tayo diyan na naghahanap ng magandang laban.
But por Dios, por santo naman, we were not disputing Bebot’s column. On record, we say again, mas mainam na magkasubukan sila. As to whom shall we support, pag usapajn namin ni Bebot yan.
Sorry, dear readers if we “over wrote” on this subject.
Our concern was the ugly and devious way some people were blowing up a very simple if picayune matter to damage our cumpadre-ship. Maybe they do not know that we are a consultant at the DDB.
Bebot, don’t allow the muckrakers to make us fight. Huag patulan ang mga propesyonal na mapanira. We have larger more serious concerns to tackle.
As to Spines’ reported plan to fight JdV, bring it on.
