SP’s probe of fish pen a good start
By Gonzalo Duque
IT will make Dagupenos happy to know that the local “Daang Matuwid” government of Mayor Belen Fernandez has chalked up an initial increase in tax collections.
Where before, it was zero or almost zero, now it hit a P2-million collection in market fees in her only 3 months in office.
Grabe ang deperensiya, diba?
Kaya tama rin si Pangulo sa kanyang mantrang Daang Matuwid.
Sana bawas-bawasan niya ang paglalait kay former President Gloria Arroyo para tuloy-tuloy ang asenso.

The sanggunian’s first investigation of the illegal fish pens—although merely scratching the surface—was a step in the right direction.
Some interested parties are paying lip service to the city government’s effort to ferret out the illegals, which is polluting our rivers and causing fish kill and endangering Dagupan’s fishing industry.
We are reliably told supposed protectors of our river systems are on the frontline, albeit in a shroud of darkness, to make a killing in the illegal fish activity.
Ito na yong sinasabi natin e. You know, had former Mayor Benjie Lim played his cards fair and square as befitting a former Jaycee leader, maganda sana ang gobyerno nang siyay mayor.
Itong mga namumuno ng ilog natin, kailangan maglinis din ng kanilang kaluluwa para gaganda ang kapaligiran at ang kanilang buhay.
You know naman na Dagupan is River City, Bangus Center of the World daw.
In case you don’t know, more than 40 percent of Dagupenos depend their livelihood on fishing.
Did you know that as per our casual probe, dapat may P10 million income ang ciudad sa ating mga ilog?
Some people are really neck-deep in the old habits, kaya hindi mapabilis ang pag-ahon ng kabuhayan.

We are happy to report that our Aksyon Radyo now under our son Nanoy has inched its way to the top—only a fraction from being No.1 Bombo—by the world famous Nielsen evaluation. Ang kulang lang ay ang folksy drama which, by the way, is being made up for by our afternoon Serbisyong Bayan at Kabaleyan Channel which, we are told, has shot up our ratings.
To this report, we say, thank you for the patronage!

In case you don’t know yet, a friend of ours, Eddie Quinto, 53, has attracted legions of patients at his clinic at the foot of Embarcadero Bridge in Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
He calls his treatment system, which consists of gentle or tender massage on the sciatic nerve area as the “Dorn” method, a combination of the chiropractic and reflexology.
Eddie has so mastered the art—or is it science?—that several well known patients including highly healed doctors of St. Luke’s are among his loyal patients.
This columnist belongs to a family of doctors. But he finds Quinto’s treatment scientific and effective.
He says he attributes his healing to the Lord.

The deadly storm Yolanda should not surprise us.
Since 2012, the world has begun to turn upside down causing untold calamities.
On this, a friend visionary, Emma de Guzman, a former OFW, has an interpretation: nililinis na ng Diyos na Maykapal ang mundo.
She cited the RH bill as a big affront to God’s commandment: Thou shall not kill.
Abortion and other contraceptives are anathema to God’s command, Emma said.
Let’s listen to the voice of the Lord—or we perish.
