Reconciliation blues!

Gonz Duque

By Gonzalo Duque

WE were and still are in reconciliation mood.

Why not? Hindi naman tayo lumalaban nang walang rason e.

Look, our name, for all our impassioned support of Mayor Belen Fernandez, is being dragged as if blocking the initiative or unity speech of former Speaker Jose de Venecia for political reconciliation in the city.

Wrong. Gusto natin peace, unity and progress at all times.

But we said dapat “reconciliation with justice.” Sa totoo lang tapos na ang laban e. OK we must move on.

It’s that simple. Huag na huag niyo kaming paandaran, na dinadala nyo ang emosyon ng tao. Huag silang bulagin, pls.

At the Dagupan Sanggunian, what’s this we hear that those who were close to then Vice Mayor Belen, now our mayor, are being given a raw deal by Vice Mayor Brian Lim?

How? Their salaries are being withheld, and the flimsy reason given is that they could not be seen in their work places…that they are more seen near Mayor Belen’s office!

Ay siempre naman a. They go nearer where there heart is. But as to the charge that they are not often in their posts, aha, this should be investigated, but investigated fairly.

But part of the non solution of the problem is Vice Mayor Brian Lim has become an invisible man, who can’t be seen easily. We’re informed there have been no sessions for four weeks already, and the forlorn employees (especially their “kursunada”) aren’t paid their salaries.

Did Brian and his cohort, a certain Rizalino Uson, brother of our best friend, the late Judge Gary Uson, know that what they are doing—withholding the salaries of employees is against the law?

Do not forget, VM Brian and Rizalino alyas Bobby, that you are public servants. Civil Service rules require you to act and behave accordingly.

Ikaw Bobby, masiado ka lan OA!

Kaskasiay pamilya da ira tay sisibletan yo. You are supposed to be an active member of Ashok Vasandani’s Conquerors Club, but you are manhid, un-Christian, hindi makatao.

Don’t be shocked if someone will file a complaint against you with the civil service! Kwidaw!

If it’s true that the Bangus Jaycees of Dagupan headed by Brian Lim will host the JCP National Convention in Dagupan in 2015, well and good!

What’s not good is Brian’s group is behaving as if it does not need the Ok and support of Mayor Belen Fernandez!

If that be so, failure is not far behind!

Brotherly, Jaycee-lly advice: talk to Mayor Belen to ensure not only the success of the JCP National Convention but the peace and joy of Dagupeño, Christian la agagui!

By the way, it’s a cardinal rule in governance—you can’t fight City Hall!

As a tip to our greenhorn Jaycees, there was in Leyte year ago a Jaycee event where the governor and the mayor were in “enemy terms.” During a procession, the mayor blocked the event. Bedlam followed!

In our PRISAA event, too. It was in Iloilo when local leaders did not see eye to eye with the sport organizers. O, anto ey? Di fiasco!

In the barangay polls, be very careful not to elect the crooks and/or incompetent. You know them. It’s just a small place where everybody knows everybody. With the advance of info tech, you’ll have no excuse not to choose well.

People like Barangay Pantal’s Julie Ann Fernandez-Perez should be elected. And the others who are good.

Mabuhay kayo!
