Playing with Fire
We had a great time with Raffy Villamil
By Gonzalo Duque
LAS VEGAS, Nevada—It seems US President Barrack Obama is coming true to his socialist bearings.
He now wants the U.S. to go socialist. And you know what’s next, God forbid!
As you know, the US of A is still in crisis.
Fortunately though, the U.S. economy is improving. Mapalad pa rin itong brackish President ano?
More on this next issue.

On our way to the U.S., we chanced upon fellow columnist Jun Velasco’s brother Dante who was to attend a conference in California. He said he was representing an NGO on a worldwide social uplift program.
We discussed briefly about Dagupan politics.
Dante is a UP professor on media communications.

While here, we visited former Dagupan “Bangus” Jaycees president and Dagupan Rural Bank executive Raffy Villamil at their residence in Las Vegas.
With wife Elvie, he treated Stephen Beltran, Aurelio Reyes and us to lunch.
In this kind of reunion-crazy Dagupeños, we were all happy. By the way, Raffy is under treatment for which he showed remarkable improvement. Praise God!
Why did he treat us, and not we treating him?
Because he was celebrating his birthday on August 23.
Happy birthday, Raffy!

Back home, we heard that El John headed by Armand Ilustre is in deep pain because his company could not collect the P400K business plates deal he contracted with the Dagupan City government thru former Sanggunian Secretary Jorge Estrada (and son Jayson Estrada, a city hall employee) who now works in the office of Vice Mayor Brian Lim.
Kayo naman, why would they ask Mayor Belen to pay for a business plate containing the name and picture of former Mayor Benjie Lim? Use your coconut naman!
Dapat nga anti graft ito e, kasi Estrada was and still is in the city government when the questionable deal was made!
Back to Vice Mayor Brian, be careful with people!
By the way, we remember Jorge Estrada when we appeared at an SP session presided by then Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez.
When Estrada was asked about a letter inviting us university officers to speak on a business tax measure, he DENIED having extended an invitation he signed and sent to us.
You see, lying is cheating and stealing. You know what God does to people who lie, more so publicly.

While still in Dagupan, we had a talk with businessman Danny Sison, whose family used to own D Executives that stood on that property where the Land Bank is presently located.
Danny told us then Mayor Benjie Lim forced the family to give up the property, which the Sisons purchased from Raffy Villamil’s family for a P2.3M.
To make a long story short, Benjie made a killing with Landbank when he manipulated the property’s ownership for himself and sold it at P35K per square meter.
Here’s the big tragedy for the Sisons, which never received a single centavo from Benjie Lim.
Grabe, grabe, grabe ya, agagui!
When we asked Danny why his family stopped pursuing the case, he said his sister who is maka Diyos just opted to let God do something about it.
With what happened to Benjie, the Sisons felt they could not get back their money anymore. Why not? We suggested the matter be brought to the attention of the Lim family.

Now, you ask why even in the U.S., our thoughts are still on Dagupan.
Yes, because the harm on the Dagupan people has been too much, too unconscionable, too inhuman too mankind. It’s a local version of the Janet Napoles corruption case involving senators and congressmen to the tune of P10 billion!
For example, did you know that Philip Soria, a BSL employee, is now building a palatial house in Malued? Don’t forget na maraming Emergency Workers who identified Soria as the culprit in their lamentable situation.
Mayor Belen, huag ninyo pong pababayaan ang Dagupan! Dagupeños look up to you to save the situation!
