Papaano, pagkasabi lang natin na kalimutan na ang banat, e, may lumantad na namang masamang isyu.
Yes, a lady who was supposed to receive her salary at P7, 400 a month plus a sack of rice as emergency worker of the past administration ended up as basing sisiw.
Walang natanggap. May kumuha ng sueldo niya.
Speaking with the grit and anger, the lady who assured us to sustain her expose to the very end accused a certain Philip Soria who allegedly got her recruited and got her into the mess.
In her testimony telecast at Kabaleyan Channel last Wednesday, the lady EW said she was interviewed for employment by P.S., was given an ATM card but it was later taken from her. Then she was simply told “to wait.”
Ang tagal na ng “waiting, sir.” Then ito na ang masakit, she never received any salary and any sack of rice.
Her case is now being investigated because more than 1,000 emergency workers were recruited by the Lim Administration under the EW Program.
Ilan kaya ang ganyang kaso?
Baleg ya kwarta ya, kabaleyan! (Pronounced kabalEyan, not kabaliyan, Freddie Fajardo ha?).
Ilagay lang natin sa 100 EWs x P7, 400, how much would that be? You can stretch your imagination how much! Kung l,000? Grabe awa?
Earlier When Mayor Belen met with EW’s one day earlier, only a handful showed up! Where were the others? Unaamot la ra?
Hmmm…hindi pwede ito, kabaleyan (hmm, Freddie, e pronounce mo nang tama ha?)
May we call on the COA to act on this fast!

A related event concerns a re-elected councilor (we’ll not mention his name in the meantime) who told us that for three years the past city administration was able to collect some P60-million in donations from various sources! Ha? No accounting? Ano ka?
The report goes that the P60-million donations allegedly went to NGOs and civic clubs.
So, we did some sleuthing. Nagtanong tanong. Resulta? Angapo! Wala (sa Tagalog).
Where did the P60 million go?
Mr. & Ms. COA, Pls. probe this without delay!
Ito na yong sinasabi natin e. ang daming skeletons sa closet. No, this is not vindictiveness. This is transparency. This is democracy. Our people are entitled to know.

Last Thursday afternoon, at the instance of Jun Velasco and Cesar Carpio, we met with the “Sukarno of Philippine media,” Mr. Johnny Dayang.
Why Sukarno?
Kasi, sabi ni Jun V, Mr. Dayang has been president “for life” of the Publishers Association of the Philippines.
Yes, we met at 2 p.m at Linda Tordesillas’ Pedritos over brewed coffee.
Ok naman ang meeting. We discussed a lot of things including a little about the local press club.
We told him the MCAdore case, which to some observers triggered the alleged formation of a new press club (to become a pressure group to force Mayor Belen Fernandez to acquiesce to Ambassador Tony Cabangon Chua’s wishes? Huag naman, pls., mga media, protect your ranks!)
It seems many people don’t know the character of the Golda Meir or Indira Gandhi of Dagupan just as yet. Mayor Belen, our mayor, is one lady you can’t terrorize. She is a terror when it comes to such issues of honesty, anti corruption, and justice.
So we told Manong Johnny that it’s the manner, the how venerable Ambassador Antonio Cabangon Chua was rushed into purchasing at P110 million the MCAdore building even amid a raging court case with Vice Mayor Belen stoutly standing her ground that the amount was way below its correct value.
We admire Manong Johnny — a sleek, suave and master PR man who has mastered the art of staying at the helm of PAPI “for centuries.” That’s why we acceded to meet with him so that he’d be able to tell Mr. Chua the real situation.
Let’s make this clear. Contrary to Manila Standard columnist Emil Jurado’s insinuations, wala po tayong interest sa MCAdore, not even P1 centavo.
We were simply making our voice heard that Ambassador Chua’s price is too low and unacceptable. But we didn’t say the price disagreement couldn’t be resolved. What are we in law, media and business for?
We told Mr. Dayang a lot of things that would interest Mr. Chua, things that when brought to light could lead to fuller understanding and solution of the MCAdore case to all parties’ satisfaction.
After our warm and friendly meeting, we foresee a lot of things we could work on fruitfully.

FLASH! At press time, we were informed that the prosecutors’ office in the Ilocos has given the go signal for the filing of libel against some broadcasters in Pangasinan who maligned us, our school, the Lyceum Northwestern University, our graduates and the general public.
We are sure we have a Punch report on this.
This development underscores our faith that we are under a Rule of Law and that abuse on the character of a person or an institution will never be allowed.
