Playing with Fire
Imagine
By Gonzalo Duque
IN our Kabaleyan Channel program, we get a lot of responses, mostly in text messages.
You are right. May mga galit, marami, which is expected.
Mula ngayon under Mayora Belen!”
Touching, di po ba?
Kaya kahit tayoy bising-bisi, hindi tayo aalis dito… tama po, para kay Mayor Belen, kasi matuwid na daan ang tinatahak niya.
Ha??? Well, Belen is not perfect. But she has a pure Christian heart. Yong mga self-righteous na umaatake sa kanya, we are inviting them to do a serious, scholarly, insightful and spiritual investigation and analysis kung sino ang mas malapit sa Diyos.
Say ag gabay na Diyos a Katawan atay hipokrito, pretenders, like the Pharisees and Sadducees. Mas ok pa in our mind ang mga makasalanan na humihingi ng kapatawaran, diba, Bishop Soc?

You said it. Singa palandey so adiscobre ran anomalya, korapsyon, takewan ed kaha na ciudad! Unimaginable, kabaleyan! Very nauseating!
Wadtan la tan, kwanyo?
Di pwede yan. Dapat may hustisya!
We call on the Commission on Audit (COA) to act with dispatch and a firm resolve to act on these anomalies uncovered by Mayor-elect Fernandez , these squandered public funds in 2010 to 2013. Many department heads who are part of the irregularities should roll. COA should file the cases, pronto! against these erring officials and their cohorts.

While doing this column, a nice tune “Imagine” by John Lennon was being played. It called to mind the following:
- Imagine City Administrator Vlad Mata (aha he now owns a Hammer vehicle! Onyaman ka no wala kad BSL administration awa, Manny?) We said, imagine Vlad Mata saying the River Cruise barges were owned by his boss BSL even if he knew, in fact, he was involved in charging the barges’ gas and other operational costs were all shouldered by the City Government!
- Imagine the city’s debts in 2012 were charged to the 2013 budget!
- Imagine the electric power charges for public schools were charged to the city!
- Imagine employees’ overtime pay reached P7 million!
- Imagine there were P9 million operations costs of Bangus Festival and charged to the city, while its multimillion earnings went to private pockets!
- Imagine the MCAdore was sold in “indecent haste” (to quote the Court) at a price patently disadvantageous to the government! According to current value MCAdore should be priced P200 million and up, not P119 million as Mr. Cabangon Chua purchased it (in haste when then Vice Mayor Belen was not looking!).
Dagupan is just lucky to have RTC Judge Mervin Jovito Samadan who penned the decision declaring Mayor Lim’s authority given by the Judas 9 to sell MCAdore “null and void.”
- Imagine the city administration under BSL spent P16 million to purchase the Awai lot—but without the title given to the city and, worse, the P16 million payment was never refunded to the city!
- Imagine the city without any authority from the SP constructed P50 million-school building purportedly to replace the Guadiz Elementary School without any Dep-Ed’s approval!
- Imagine, against BSL’s pronouncements, illegal fishpens, these pollutants and fish killers, have increased to 250 resulting in fish kill and depletion of marine life!
And so on…and so on…
The BSL Administration did nothing but to hoodwink Dagupeños that some good things were being done… Yon pala, pampataba lang ng bulsa at panluluko sa mga tao ang pinag gagawa.
Pinmalandey lay “Imagine,” mapapahiya na si John Lennon!
What’s important now is some meaningful, solid, concrete and real, rapid ACTION by the COA! The public is waiting. Kaskasian lara. Naupot anggad gaer so atilak ed kaha. Manpapasnok lay Diyos.
Misalamat tayo ta nansalita lay tawen piyan ontonda layan panagloko na karaklan.
We appeal to COA chief Quinto to ACT ASAP with spiritual courage, just like how Judge Samadan issued his ruling on MC Adore. BTW, kamuntik nang masunog ang opisina mo, Chief. Maong ta inyawa na maaro lawas ya Diyos ya Manamalsa!
May God bless us all.
