Go easy on Col. Chan, Guv!

WE are not superstitious; what’s more, we are not callous.

We believe the story of Fr. John Palinar who saw last week with his flock the image of the Virgin Mary during a bon fire near the Villamil Bridge in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

She was a Weeping Virgin, he said. Malungkot. Kasi naman hindi matapos-tapos yong taytay.

Inatey lay puto industry, awa pare Manny? Aray totoo naasar lara.

They are gnashing their teeth. They said “why do they start constructing a still functional bridge, and they can’t even finish it. It’s the height of irresponsibility.”

In our interview at Kabaleyan Channel Serbisyong Bayan, Rep. Rachel Arenas observed that non-completion of the vital bridge was due to failure of coordination among the DPWH, the contractor and the local government of Mayor Mark Macanlalay. It’s been at standstill for 6 months now!

Even non-Calasiao folk who use the bridge in going to and coming from Dagupan, Malasiqui, San Carlos City and Bayambang are already angry.

DPWH, please ACT!

Even the bridge in the Bonuan Binloc-San Fabian boundary is suffering from delay.

Agyo la alagaren so pan-payawar na Inang Virgin, agagui.

Look at how bad partisan politics works!

In Dagupan, Mayor-elect Belen Fernandez is only one month as acting mayor—due to Mayor Benjie Lim’s incapacity and here she is already receiving unchristian attacks from detractors, very partisan and political. She deserves a honeymoon for 100 days with the local media. But the hacks won’t stop. We advise them, low-blow critics, to square off with their conscience.

What’s this? A certain Asenso Contractor at Dagupan City Hall whose business is to feed children is being accused of serving spoiled (nabubulok) food.

Ay, criminal ya, agagui! The office involved daw is the City Budget Office! Say lutoan da kuno diman lad City Hall! Talagan nayari kayod tan, Administrator Vlad Mata!

Say amta na kabaleyan makatao ka! Why allow this nabubulok na pagkain to be fed to innocent, unwary kids.

What Mayora is doing is a learning process—finding out the holes in fiscal management.

Here’s the good news. All these anomalies will be taken care of by the COA! The goal and objective is to avoid the sins of the past. Mayor Belen has to do this to chart the future of the city. In her barely 3 weeks in office, Belen has brought the government to the people, transparent, visible, klaro, walang itinatago.

Her critics, one of them with pretensions for a holier-than-thou persona, a first-rate hypocrite like the Pharisees—are committing a more grievous sin.

Mas ok ang sinner who accepts his sin, but not this incorrigible detractor….we wonder how he would pass the hole of a needle. He is worse than a rich man!

We suggest to Gov. Spines to take the Humble Road and let Col. Marlon Chan stay and try to have a normal working relationship with him, and that’s it.

The elections are over. It’s time to move on.

If the Guv wants a new face at the PNP provincial office, what guarantee is there that Chan’s replacement will be better?

Makikialam pa rin ang Palasyo. Let’s not forget it was Pnoy who put Chan here. Yes, to stop jueteng and monitor LGUs fiercely.

If you have nothing to hide, Chan is an angel.

Take it easy. Guvnor! You have already won the universe!
