Sultan Kiram should talk to China
By Gonzalo Duque
AS we wrote this, President Pnoy would have been in two Pangasinan cities – Dagupan and Alaminos – and Malasiqui town.
Why was not Lingayen not included in his itinerary?
Andi bali ni. We leave that to his staff. But, we sincerely were happy to be visited by Pangulo. You know, Pangasinan was among the provinces that gave Pnoy the highest number of votes, second only to Cebu in the last elections. It’s strange though that the two provinces did not land properly in his heart. Masaklap din ano?
But in all our talks, Governor Spines said he remains 100% supportive of the President.
Welcome to Pangasinan Mr. President!

Another lawyer-friend deserves our warmest congratulations. Atty. Joven Maramba, dean of our LNU College of Law, was just appointed City Fiscal of Dagupan.
Baleg a inoman ya ha, Manny? No, andila tay panagpagustoy laman, pare. We shall just rejoice with his family and especially his wife, RTC Judge Genoveva Maramba, for this feat!
God is really good ha? Manatalanggaring iray maong ya totoo, those who continually work for what is good, what is just, and what is noble.
Manimis si Vice Mayor Belen because she pushed hard for Joven, who was also endorsed by former Mayor Al Fernandez and Rep. Gina de Venecia.
Yes, Joven got it, in spite of an influential official of DoJ who was rooting for another person.

As the country struggle to free itself from the Sabah controversy, a brilliant idea just dawned on us.
What it is, you ask.
We would ask our embattled Muslim brother Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to make a fast and quick visit to China –yes, the People’s Republic –and offer to sell his controversial property to that giant country.
As of this writing, Malaysia is getting violently hot on the issue and refuses to even give Philippine officials access to Filipinos detained who are suspected to be Kiram supporters. The problem has reached a point where there is no clear solution. Even President Pnoy was quoted as saying “the Sabah cause is a lost cause.”
We don’t think so.
Let’s begin from the beginning.
Like in most cases the problem cropped up because of a turf war…because the Philippines came up with a legal claim to a property.
Seek U.S. help? Forget it. America under President Obama is in shambles, economically. To China, there would be great hope.
This kind of deal was done in the past when Spain ceded the Philippine island to the U.S. Ditan so nanlapoan na controversial party rights clause.
So, Sir Kiram, stop brooding –and dreaming to beat Malaysia! Angapoy laban mo.
Go to China –and watch for a breakthrough.

We describe the effort of Mayor Benjie Lim to put a 21-bed Maternity and Children’s hospital as irresponsible and pathetic.
Why? Ni, wadtan lay 11-storey Region 1 Medical Center ya in-launched nen Pnoy nen Biernes, akin ta manggawa ni ray melag ya ospital a?
Malinew so pikewet a rason, agagui. Pankemelan toy cuarta. Kampanya la agagui!
Agni inaprubaan na DepEd itan. Even the proposed site for the school, ay katawan, agayla yan kapalaran na ciudad!
For all we all know, we have other more pressing priority problems like garbage, flooding, and the dilapidating city hall, many others. Agto nanaimano taw ala ray bubulong-bulong ya alalay ya bayaran who are making him blind and insensitive to the real issues. Say istilo nen mayor, manggawa ni proyekto, ipaalaguey to lan tampol, naani lay pan justify. Agto mankokunsultay opisyal tan makatalos na pankaabigay ciudad. Say kokonsultaen to aray alipores…ibangat to ray ibaga ra. Makapalek! Makapasinagem ed ombaley!
As BSL would reply to Manny and Ope’s “Salat, Salat, Salat!”….
“Saliw, Saliw, Saliw! Or, Lako, Lako, Lako!”
