Guv’nor Spines virtually unopposed
By Gonzalo Duque
WHOEVER said that former Mayor Al Fernandez is out of the Dagupan mayoral contest did not read the political crystal ball correctly.
In our several meetings at Pedritos, we were able to read his mind: he still has his former post in mind, and this time, he won’t commit the same mistakes of the past.
And our partner Macky Samson, who can read Al, told us in a serious manner. “They will formalize it soon in a meeting in Bonuan Binloc. It’s Al, pare, not Belen, who probably will be vice mayor as usual.
And if Bonuan Binloc is the place, big decisions are made there. You know what we mean.
Al, you know, is easily the most popular and well-loved leader in Dagupan City.
Agaylay karakel na imakis, Manny, nen apaolyan toy campanya. Kwartatikel so analod saman, awa? This time, he hinted to this columnist, he won’t be caught with pants down.
Sikan talaga, kuya Al, aratay naeerel with pants down, ja labat nagagawad ambuetel ya kwarto itan, aga ontan, ha, Manny?
Sigue sirin, idol Al. Ompiano ompawil so aroan ed bahley ya nianakan.

What’s the view on the other side?
Say balita ed grapevine, ibinabawal nen Below Sea Level so manbasay Sunday Punch lalo lad City Hall
Anto? Walang nagbabasa ng SP? Tepetan yo para tay newsstands who will tell you that the Punch sells like hot cakes! Ask Danny beside Red Ribbon at Vicar. Or the sales ladies at Marigold! Say pitepet na managsaliw na dyaryo say Sunday Punch.

We said it before. We say it again.
Our people are simply fed up, tired and nauseated by those billboards containing the names and pictures of politicians.
Whoever told these creatures that they have all the right to show off their faces all year round to the public? Nakakahiya, andi baing. It’s good that we have a President with delicadesa, and who has the welfare and interest of the people in mind always.
Yang mga billboards nay an, daang baluktot. Walang silbi para sa tao kundi para sa mga nagmamagaling na mga pulitiko at the expense of the people’s money.

In Lingayen, news analysts view with sympathy the failure of the Liberal Party to field a definite candidate for governor – either Victor Agbayani or Nani Braganza.
They can’t decide? Understandable. The incumbent governor looks unbeatable. Performance, logistics and any which way, agni nataloy mama Spines.
A littler birdie told us even in Agbayani’s camp, the name of the game is “wait and see.” Ay, anggapo lay oras, agagui, panag file lay certificate of candidacy on October l to 5.
In our book, the only guy who can beat Spines for governor, if ever, and it’s not even sure, is Mark Cojuangco. But Mark is for Spines!
From all indications, Spines is virtually unopposed.
