A Kabaleyan’s Thoughts…
Political Trap
By Leonardo J. Galvez
Adding more problems to the financially strap national government is the plan to add another congressional district in the province. It’s not advisable at this time. From the looks of it, it’s another ploy at “getting” another seat in the halls of congress.
The legal basis for creating a new district is the provinces’ population. The six congressional districts is more than enough to represent the Urduja country. What the present lawmakers have to do is to work in concert rather than concentrate in their respective domain.
With another 70 million pesos in pork barrel which the COA can’t touch and the ever secretive disbursements of the funds, it will make Juan dela Cruz poorer.
In case the plan pushes through — hope it won’t — the qualifying age of the candidates shall not be more than 40 years old. They are least garqapal than the more experienced ones.
