A Kabaleyan’s Thoughts…

Not a PR firm

By Leonardo J. Galvez

Investigation of so-called alleged anomalies in the city government is now “kaput” with five councilors kowtowing with the present administration. I never expect that the “transferees” lacked moral ascendancy. What they did is both political and economic convenience. No more, no less.

If they think the unheralded move is a political blitzkrieg aimed at enhancing their popularity, they should be told that the city council is not a public relations firm. The good thing about it is that, they virtually exposed their kind as public servants.

The Judas-like maneuver involving the quintuplets aka active participants raises more questions than answers. The public believed that something reportedly changed hands when they were corralled during negotiations. The more they deny this allegation, the more it becomes believable.

Investigation of the Awai deal, MaAdore sale, the Calasiao lot — to mention a few — will definitely be shelved and eventually find their way to the archives. If this happens, blame it to the city aldermen who failed to work in harmony with the councilor-reformists.
