Support Palaro

By Gonzalo Duque

IT’S Palaro time.

For the second time our province is host to Palarong Pambansa or the National Games. Athletes and sportsmen from the different schools of the Philippines are in town to participate in the different games. Let us congratulate ourselves led by Gov. Espino for this honor of being host. But more importantly we should help the sport officials to ensure the success of the games.

Let’s not forget that we have a big stake in the hosting of Palarong Pambansa. Our management capability, our public relations and the entire caboodle of this great hosting are being watched by the whole world.

It’s not a joke to host a big national event. Let us show our amity to the athletes and our visitors us well. Any negative incident that will happen during the games will be exaggerated and multiplied a hundred times to bring down the leadership of the host province and no other than Gov. Espino.

In a casual talk Education Secretary Armin Luistro told us that the government cannot do anything but to select Pangasinan as venue of Palaro despite many attempts to block it by certain quarters.

Talaga namang napakalayo nang mga ibang nagbid.  Kulilat sila. Di naman nila kaya ang preparedness ng ating provincial leadership. Sabi ni Sec. Armin wala siya sa politika kaya pinili ang Pangasinan on the strength of merit.

With Pres. Pnoy in town, politics has been kicked out of the equation. There is no politics in the games. Trabaho lang walang politika.

Some naughty people are trying to inject politics in the presidential visit. Sabi nila makikihalubilo si Pnoy sa mga Liberals ng probinsya. Wala na tayo dun.

We believe that the presence of Pnoy here indicates much trust in the Governor.

Let’s help ensure Palaro’s success.

Now that the Bangus Festival (Not bangus fisteval) is over we can now look hard and seriously at the problem of the bangus industry in Dagupan.

We understand that the city’s fishing consultant Alfredo Dawanan is scratching his head because he is not being consulted on fishery matters at all. We were told that Alfred has been doing everything to be of help to the city, but his offer of help is being ignored.

Is the BSL-AMD affair a case of unrequited love?

Ikaw, pare Apring– please don’t be like the clowncilors. All for one, one for all daw, but the truth is one for you, two for me.

Manpipinsiw la rad Fortune.

How unfortunate!

Hi, Apring our advice to you is this — better resign! That’s the most honorable way and nothing more.

This columnist has had experience with Vice Mayor Belen’s so-called allies!

Belen’s allies? My foot! Not anymore, nagdefect na sila kay Benjie!

We tell you. They are not reliable. We know their Kind of game. Ang sagwa.
