Pnoy will check if Spines is unbeatable

PRESIDENT Noynoy will find his Pangasinan visit on MAY 7 as guest of the national Palaro a learning experience in local politics hereabouts.
The province, let’s not forget, gave him the second biggest number of votes nationwide in the last presidential elections.
This is the reason he couldn’t say no to Governor Amado Espino’s invitation even if some well-placed persons in the Liberal Party are whispering nasty things about him.
In his neutral if not lucid corner – moments he is not being pulled by his self serving “intelligence” brigade — he knows that in this Pangasinan visit he is meeting a local politician who has mastered the art of winning elections in a grand slam manner, a winning streak he himself has known intimately too well.
There will be mutual admiration here, although there’s more prestige in the local politician having won on his own account; Pnoy only decided to run for president when he saw millions pouring out for his mother when she died.
For this reason, Governor Spines shouldn’t worry a bit about a bulong racket out to demonize him to the President, who, now a wiser politician, will have to take into account how guv cornered a big bunch of new NPC members taking their oath to Danding Cojuangco, Pnoy’s uncle and closest political adviser.
Spines’ closeness to the Cojuangcos was already foretold by the open declaration of former Rep. – now senatoriable Mark Cojuangco – to back his gubernatorial re-election. It’s public knowledge that it’s only Mark who can give Spines a fight, but that, the LPs now realize, is a boulevard of broken dreams.
Noynoy is coming here to see for himself that it’s not a rumor that Spines – outside his cousin—is unbeatable, but a fact.

Pangasinan young people had a taste of senatoriable Joey de Venecia III’s ease in munching public issues when he guested at the Globe, University of Luzon, Dagupan City government youth forum last Thursday at the People’s Astrodome.
Other brilliant speakers were Bambam Aquino, young and look-alike of his late uncle Ninoy, and our friend Jay Javoneta.
Joey used to be in the shadow of his father, the former Speaker. Now he is on his own, with more punchy one-liners and seasoning. If the Iglesia ni Kristo won’t delist him in the senate race next year, like they did last time, Joey might top it this time.
We have known him since he was a boy, escorting him in public appearances. He is greatness-driven. Get an idea of his sense of greatness by what he told his audience – as relayed to us by auntie Claudette Dalusong.
“Find out what you want to give up your life for, and do it, and God will do the rest,” he said, as he gave details of his own deathly experience in his NBN-ZTE crusade.
The audience was moved to tears, said Claudette. The audience thought they were listening to JdV and Ninoy rolled into one, she added.

SPORTS FLASH! High school classmate Johnny Moulic was ecstatic when he sent us a dispatch that his granddaughter Kristelle Ira Moulic Zabala, l5, Mother Goose Special School System, Inc. Science High School and her younger brother Francis Augustine were part of the Team Philippines at the international Wado Ryu Karate championship who brought home 5 golds, 4 silvers and a bronze from Singapore recently.
The”9th Shinwa Kai Intl Karate Open Invitation Championships 2012 was held last April 14-15 at Cairnhill Community Club, Singapore City. Participating teams came from Australia, Banglaesh, Malysia, the Philippines and host Singapore.
With the Zabala kids and their team was chief instructor and Philippine Karate Federation-National Sports Association, Inc. President Kaichou Alejandro Enrico G. Vasquez.
Team members who brought honors to the country, particularly Pangasinan and Dagupan City were Gilbert Jorel Arellano, 12, of Great Heritage School, who won Gold-individual Kumite (sparring), Gold-individual Kata (karate dance), and Gold-Team Kumite; Johnmarc Claveria, 13, of Nuestra Senora De La Salette School, Gold-individual Kumite, Gold-Team Kumite & Bronze-individual Kata; Kristine Ira Moulic Zabala 15, Mother Goose Special School System, Inc. Science HS Dagupan,Gold in above 55kg, Girls Kumite, and Silver-individual Kata.;
Francis Augustine Moulic Zabala, LA, 13, Nuestra Senora De La Salette, Gold-Team kumite & Silver-individual Kumite; Alexis Lousie Nunez, 13, Divine Word Academy, Gold-Team Kumite; John Enrico Vasquez, 10, Mother Goose Special School System, Inc. The team is now preparing for the upcoming 1st National karate-do championships of the PKF-NSA,INC. which will be held on May 11-12, 2012 in Philippine Sports Arena “Ultra”, Pasig City..
