“The Impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona has degenerated into an exploration of the septic tank…” — Amando Doronilla
ASKED about the circulation of the Sunday Punch, we casually replied “millions!”
The curious one said “that’s impossible.” We said the Punch is in the internet, which means millions of subscribers.
With the balikbayan movement in town, we often meet old pals who say, “Oy, I’ve been reading you in the internet.”
You can’t count the readers in the internet, can you?

In the Supreme Court Justice Corona’s trial, the protagonists’ resort to “excrement and septic tank verbiage” has brought out the odium of certain personages, with stinking entrails flying into the faces of the nation.
The principal victims are, first, Corona, who has been convicted in the eyes of the public; the President who is portrayed as a vindictive leader, and the public whose appetite for the sensational and muck has been exposed.
Does this, alas!, show our upbringing as a people?

Readers have stormed us with queries about Dr. Robin Navarro, his health and wellness formula after reading about our item here last week.
We’d just say the subject is very sensitive, and that we are not at liberty to recommend it. It’s a stem cell thing, which is now the rage in Europe and other countries.
Our layman’s view is that our body has non-functional cells which are to be awakened to replace the diseased cells. While this goes on, the body is bombarded with powerful diet supplements until it strengthens and kicks away the diseased parts.
Navarro’s clinic is beside Sony appliance on Arellano Street, Dagupan City.

By dint of luck, we found ourselves in the middle of a heated exchange between Dagupan fishermen and the office of the City Agriculturist, with Mayor Benjie Lim presiding. Root cause of the rift was City Agriculturist Emma Molina’s and BSL’s assistant Butch Gutierrez’s lack of empathy or sympathy to some members belonging to Alfredo Dawana’s group, who felt given a raw deal on the construction or demolition of fish traps.
The case was settled amicably. Benjie played neutral, which we interpret as a victory for Dawana, a Lim loyalist.
