Manaoag inventor can do wonder for Mother Earth and the economy

By Jun Velasco

TIME Machine, that’s the latest state-of-the-art resto by the Tanap Bridge going to Angel Gumarang, Rico Mejia and Gerry Meneses’ barangay.

It’s called Time Machine, says its avant garde proprietor-manager, Atty. Manny Aoanan,  “because once you set foot in the classy place, you get transported to an exciting trip to your favorite places in the past and enjoy succulent food during the journey.”

See you there.

In spite of its much publicized, embarrassing fumbles — a natural consequence of any freshman government’s baptism — the advent of the Aquino government is still a reason for the Filipinos’ hope for a better life.

We have other reasons for having much hope in the future amidst  frightening meltdown of the iceberg in the north pole that threatens  to cause nightmarish deluge in the world.

One reason for hope (we stress this with the first whiff of a cold pre-Christmas morning) is a “simple, complicated” genius from Manaoag, Pangasinan — Mr. Rudy N. Lantano, “most outstanding inventor of the world in l996.”

One day this week, a team of journalists paid him a visit at his P2,5 billion refinery in Taguid, Rizal, a few meters from the Department of Science and Technology, where he used to hold fort for more than 20 years.

A chat that lasted for hours unraveled the 66-year old scientist’s utter disappointment with Philippine officials for dealing with him in an unprofessional manner.

“They would assure me of support, but nothing happened,” Manong Rudy fumed.

The chat centered on his three famous inventions —1. Super Bunker Formula- L, 2. Lan Gas , and 3. Alco-diesel. His famous three “babies” — products of long and painstaking years of research and prayers — “will save the world from global warming” and lift the Philippine economy to the “highest height.”

What are the qualities of his Super Bunker Formula L?

Produced from a clever mix of 40 percent water and 60 percent bunker including a small percentage of additives, his invention reduces smoke emission from the l,000 parts per million to 55 ppm (parts per million).

The Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organization in l996 awarded him a gold medal as the world’s outstanding inventor.

His Lan Gas is a mixture of alcohol and petrol that could fuel spark-ignition engines.

The alco-diesel is a blend of hydrous ethyl alcohol and diesel fuel that could power compression engines. It adds power to the engine, making it to accelerate faster while giving it more mileage to every liter.

What our kababayan has achieved — a rare if miraculous find in the whole wide world — was his cleverly mixing water and fuel and a few additives that has  produced a formula that powers engines better than what the conventional one can do in a substantial volume, and yet,  pollution-free and sold at the unthinkably least cost.

The invention is a Godsend, if you please.  And, in Mr. Lantano’s unrestrained language, “would signal the end of global warming if used worldwide.”

When tested in a C220 engine, his invention ran at l0 kilometers per liter while the conventional vehicle would ran at 6 kilometers per liter diesel.

Lanano’s invention, our team has concluded “provides an infinite and promising possibility of making the Philippines the most eco friendly country in the world.”

Cross your fingers.
