Think about it
Let’s chat with Jimmy Licauco

By Jun Velasco
YOU must have read or heard about Prof. Jimmy Licauco’s report that on December 12, 2012, the planetary system will have a realignment of sorts.
We thought it was no big deal and chose to ignore it. But the word “rearrangement” could mean planet earth might be relocated in Jupiter’s place or in Pluto’s, did Jimmy mean that?
That’s how simplistic our casual reading of the rearrangement or realignment thing, and so we called up Jimmy to do the job of an explainer.
Being a friend of 20 years or so, the Inner Mind columnist of the PDI agreed to speak before our Rotary Club of Metro Cubao on Wednesday evening. He said some National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) people are anxious about the report and are taking it seriously.
Could it pose a danger to humankind? We pressed the query in light of our perilous weather – the killer floods, global warming and climate change – but Jimmy made us more nervous when he said “those floods are nothing compared to what will happen on December.” Alarmist.
But because Jimmy is not an ordinary writer or researcher on paranormal and psychic subjects, we want to dig deeper. If you share our interest on the subject, we are inviting you to listen to him on Nov. 11, 7 p.m. at the 100 K Tower conference hall along Kamias Road, Quezon City. That’s where our Rotary Club meets every Wednesday.

However you look at it, Chiz Escudero has shed his presidentiable image when he behaved like a spoiled brat slamming Boss Danding and the Nationalist People’s Coalition, the tycoon and the party that have nurtured him to what he is today.
His patriotic rhetoric is nothing but that, rhetoric. But in the realm of real politik, his juvenile behaviour has sealed his presidential coffin. Sayang!

The old Cory Aquino generals, the likes of Raffy Colet and Oscar Orbos, who spring like began to man the ramparts of a Noynoy presidential campaign must be hurting with the announcement that Victor Agbayani is the Liberal Party candidate for governor in Pangasinan.
Is this why the two former governors, Raffy and Oca, have not been heard from lately?
If that is the case, the realignment in the Solar System may be replicated in the Pangasinan political scene too, what with a new political force, Amado Espino, only eager to play poker?
This will be exciting.

The recent Lions induction in Dagupan City has many stories to tell. Consider the cast – Alex de Venecia, who introduced Art Lomibao as guest of honor.
In one table were guests that included Carmen Pascual of Zonta Philippines, Zeny Palisoc of the CWC and the Joselito Palisoc Foundation, Solo de Venecia and Dale Cabrera.
Much of the talk was about relief goods distribution in Malued, Pogo, Lasip and another one next week in Mangaldan, with Medy Ramsey, a top official of Spa Asia, playing a key role for having brought over relief goodies from no less than the First Gentleman, Mike Arroyo.

In Dagupan City, many predict that prospective councilor Maybelyn Fernandez (we hope she takes a crack at it) will easily cruise to victory by her marriage to Michael, her name which combines Belen and Fernandez, beauty, intelligence and public relations.. Jun Ebdane is fast inching his way to the top of the presidential derby due to his unmatchable record as a public official.
