Do you want our province named Eugenio Perez?

Do you want our province named Eugeno Perez Province?
FIRST, our happy greetings to you all after our month-long trip to the US.
It was a great respite from an action-packed life in Pangasinan and the Philippines.
Nice to be back in some familiar arms, you know.

Sorry for the typo in our last column. The names of Sammy and Mita Macasaet were misspelled as Sammy and Mita Macaraeg.
Maybe, fate would have us restate their names here because they were the sweetest hosts we had during our stay in the US.

Our dear old pal Raffy Villamil and sweetie wife Elvie gave us a most enjoyable time in Las Vegas. Know what? We found Elvie perfect for a political life. She will make a good public servant.
Being a Binmaley lady, she can run for councilor under Mayor Sammy Rosario.
What about it, Sam? Ikaw, Raffy ha, huag kang kokontra sa great political future ni Elvie.

Guv’nor Spines seems to be in the center of controversy the past few days because of the shotguns.
This sounds unnatural. We are talking of guns here, which we thought should be doing the firing rather than the itchy mouths debating.
Wala namang problema sa isyu na yan so long as our kapitanes know how to handle and use the shotguns. The kapitanes are just like the police captains, so what’s the fuss?
Meanwhile, let’s have the assurance that every thing is in order. There should be no kapitan who will use the gun against his political or personal enemy if any. If he does, naku, responsibilidad ni Spines yan. You know that ha, Gov?
In our view, akalkula la nen Gov yan na maong. Matinik atang sundalo yan. He was the captor of the most dreaded enemy of the state before, Kumander Dante. He knows where of he speaks.

In our month-long last US visit, we bumped into some kababayan sa East and West Coasts who noticed our advocacy for the founding date for our beloved province.
In all humility, many of them were surprised why we don’t have yet a fixed date of our premier province’s foundation date. They told us, sir, kasama kami sa advocacy ninyo, para may tunay tayong founding date. Ang lumalabas tuloy, parang si former late Speaker Eugenio Perez ang founder ng Pangasinan because we celebrate his birthday as Pangasinan Day tuwing November 13. Gusto kaya ng pamilya niya na gawing Province of Eugenio Perez ang ating probinsiya? That’s what we mean when we are pushing for a founding date of our province.
Angano si Manong Joe de V, the author ng Pangasinan Day, if only to honor his father in law, ompiano agto gabay met ya ingaran so probinsiya ya Eugenio Perez!.
So let’s take another long look ha, mga igan? What we learned is that our province was founded sometime in 1611, the year the University of Sto Tomas was founded. So if that be so, we would be celebrating our four hundredth year, too, in 2011.
Let’s brace up for this big forthcoming event. It’s our hope that it will be under the governorship of our friend Spines that this great undertaking will be made.
Go for it.
