Playing with Fire
Stop politicking at this calamitous hour
By Gonzalo Duque
Dagupan City’s shroud of darkness brought about by Cyclone ‘Cosme’ last Saturday should, by now, if he has not done yet, prod Mayor Al Fernandez, Gov. Amado Espino and the other LGU heads to take seriously all this Disaster Preparedness Program. I thought, Mayor Al has taken the best step to correct the situation.
Kawawa na ang mga taga-Dagupan. Most private buildings have been stripped bare. May mga nakakapanlulumo at nakakatawa na nangyari at the height of Cosme’s fury.
This representation is also hurting because our LNU and the Polyclinic also got a severe beating from the giant ipo ipo to the tune of millions of loses. But these are things we have to bear, and wemust be sensitive and alert enough at the message God wants us to learn from our erratic ways.
May ibig ipahiiwatig ang Panginoon na dapat nating isapuso.
We lost millions worth of properties, crops and infra from the cyclone. Up to now, power has not been restored.
Mayor Al roughly placed his damage estimate at P1 Billion – and he could be right. The times call for all of us to close ranks and unite for the sake of the unfortunate ones and everyone.
They say that at a time like this, people will find the best opportunity to be good and compassionate to others.
It’s about time. It’s been long overdue, folks, our need to become good Samaritans at all times.

While we are in the midst of crisis, most of our public officials are as usual bad – or have bed habits. Aha, ok yan a, kasi malamig ang panahon!
But we wish to remind them, including former Speaker Joe de Venecia who was still in Russia, to start changing their mindset over things.
We can’t temporize with problems forever, one way or the other. Sooner or later, the Law of Averages will catch up with us – and whip us up!
Our local people are suffering. What have you really done? What are doing? Or what are you not doing?
Our local people are suffering. What have you really done? What are you doing? Or what are you not doing?
You are still denouncing PGMA? NBN-ZTE? Come on, Kuya Joe, you have been there. You know the score. Mas ok siguro kung pumunta na kayo sa inyong constituents and commiserate with those who are in pain and help them truly, sincerely and nobly. Kawawa na ang Pinas!

Over a cup of coffee, someone who looks like Macky Samson joked: “Hindi nila mapapababa si Ate Glo dahil may Black Magic siya!
Sino ba ang Black Magic na tinotukoy natin?
Kuya Rudy Aquino butted in and said, “E, di si Albert Balingit!
Ha ha. Man pakape kad Pedritos, Albert.
