Delivery rider dies after being sideswiped by pick-up
A 39-year-old female delivery rider died after being sideswiped by an oncoming pick-up along MacArthur Highway, Barangay San Miguel in Calasiao town on Sunday, June 12.
Joan Chua, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in Calasiao town, was on her way home from Dagupan City on board her motorcycle, when she was sideswiped by the pick-up truck driven by Engr. Mark Anthony Flores, 36, of Rosario, La Union.
Chua, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries, and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Witnesses saw Chua riding fast when the incident occurred. Authorities urge the motorcycle-riding public to always wear a helmet. (Ahikam Pasion)
