MORE than a thousand children attending the 37 day-care centers in Dagupan graduated and celebrated the completion of their early education through a mass recognition ceremony last March 18.

Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez joined parents in witnessing 1,280 pre-school pupils march on stage at the CSI Stadia in Lucao.

The mass recognition was sponsored jointly by the Dagupan City Government and the CSI Group of Companies owned by the vice mayor.

The students and their parents were given a special treat by Vice Mayor Fernandez by inviting ABS-CBN’s Philippine Dream Academy champions Philip Nolasco and Amy Nobleza to entertain them.

In that occasion, the mayor and the vice mayor reiterated their commitment to make Dagupan “an orderly city that is more livable for children”.

“That is our mission and vision,” said Mayor Fernandez as he hailed Vice Mayor Fernandez as his indefatigable partner in promoting the various programs and projects in the city, even in her personal capacity as a businesswoman.

Vice Mayor Fernandez, for her part, reiterated her personal commitment to provide the best quality public education in the early childhood level of all children in Dagupan.

“We in the city government care for our children as we care for every citizen of the city,” she said.

The CSI has been the principal sponsor for the city’s day-care center program for the past 10 years, hosting 20 of the 37 centers.—LM
