A world talent in Pangasinan

By Gonzalo Duque

PINOYS all over the world can’t help being proud of President Digong.

Probably it’s only now that a Philippine President is getting world publicity as frequently as he.

     Pati pagtulog niya, pang headline!

In Pangasinan, in Mangaldan particularly, a 23–year old lady, Aura Mil Anne Escano Morales, daughter of teacher- widow Maria Aurora Escano Morales, will be officially installed as Asia World Model United Nations at a world confab in Bangkok, Thailand on Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 next year.

A 2nd year law student at UPang, she was selected from more than 17,000 candidates! Talagang super! The town and province, and country are proud.

     Congrats!

Aha, what’s this? Our not-so-old friend, former Tapuac Kapitan Alfred Dawana, who is a councilor bet as an independent, was contacted by a California-based group headed by Peter Salo to head the revival of the Statehood movement. Wow! Parang taliwas sa sentiment ni Pangulo a! Gusto ni Digöng China e.

But anyway that’s a good idea! Karamihan sa atin loves nila America, yes, even under President Donald Trump!

Mag-click kaya sa Dagupan yan? Ok lang, Mang Apring, basta ang mayor mo si Belen ha? Ok tayo diyan.

As we wrote this, a hair-raising news reached us. Levin Uy, about 50, a confidant of re-electionist Mayor Cesar Quiambao and candidate for councilor in Bayambang town, was shot dead at dawn Friday. Shocking! This must be politically motivated due to the timing.

Let’s pray that things would get back to normal soon in that town. May Levin rest in peace!

Going back to Levin Uy, he was tutok na tutok sa Bayambang’s unprecedented progress mainly authored by Mayor Quiambao who wants nevertheless to dedicate to the people and the town’s Patron St. Vincent Ferrer. From the grapevine, the town is on the threshold of becoming a city soon. Ironic!

Levin and a teacher, Cesar Salosagcol, were both slain while jogging.

Another sad news: 0ur friend former Vice Gov. Conrado “Jojo” Bautista Estrella Jr., namesake of the late Agrarian Minister Condring Estrella Sr., joined his Maker last week.

He was interred at Loyola Memorial in Manila. May he rest in peace. . .

Pete de Vera, former manager of the Estrellas Magiliw Ice Plant, shares this vignette: Jojo’s ma, the late Sergia Bautista Estrella, had the same birthday as former Pres. Sergio Osmena. Tnx, Pete, for the tip.

Quicky note: Warning to lovers who can’t control themselves: In Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday, a Toyota Hilux crashed into a traffic sign and a lamppost where upon a couple who were naked and probably having sex emerged from the vehicle.

Agla ra makaalagar awa?
